How often do people break sticks.

I am new to playing and was looking at buying a new sticks they can get spendy. Was wondering how quickly do people go through sticks

These days they generally last a long time (composite sticks); don't buy cheap wood sticks because they don't last, and you don't need to spend $300 either; you can get a decent stick for under $100 (especially if you're playing at a beginner level).

Buy decent composite sticks on clearance and don't shoot the puck. I've played ~2 - 3 times a week for the past 18 months with the same two Warrior QR3s.
Another option: buy a used stick at Play It Again. (After you flex test it, and check for major cracks, or nicks, of course.) It will be a fraction of the cost, and should still last plenty long enough to return value.
