Changing Hockey Rinks?

Does it make sense to add a "warning track" like baseball has? https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/does-hockey-need--warning-track--to-prevent-devastating-injuries-130606231.html Article says it'll be in 225 US rinks this season -- good bet some of those will be in The State of Hockey. Anybody seen one yet? Kinda DOES make me want to eat some Cheetos...

I like this idea. Don't know if it will help but no reason not to try it. Especially if it has any potential!

I think it may help players know how close to the boards they are, then look up instead of going head first and risking injury.

I feel like they should already know how close they are to the boards and this isn't gonna help in that regard. This isn't like baseball where you're tracking a ball and not looking at the wall. If you're near the boards the puck probably has already hit the boards and you know where they are. Personally I don't think this is gonna help at all.

I'm sure it will eventually complicate the game with more rules so that it is made to work statistically. I can already hear, “REF! That guy touched me in the SAFETY ZONE, thats a 10 minute with game ejection! But, I am old school, so my opinion could be narrow minded.
