A certified Hockey Nut!
I grew up here in the great State of Hockey! Went to Bloomington Jefferson, but never made the team. (They were pretty good in the mid-to-late 80s.) I learned to skate at 5 and played on outside rinks and pick-up games throughout high school. After college, I played on a few league teams and had some great experiences. Played with the 2005-06 AHA Ice Gators, and we won the beginner league that year. Haven't been on a team since. When did I become a hockey fan for life? Watching Coach Herb Brooks and the USA Men's hockey team beat Russia at the 1980 Winter Olympics. That was awesome!
I'm a huge Wild fan, but I will always miss and love the North Stars. (Norm Green will ALWAYS suck!) I follow the Gopher men's hockey team, too (especially when there's an NHL lockout.)
