So I just made a stupid mistake that John Sheehan helped me correct. I replaced the laces on my skates this week and laced them up wrong...that made my feet/ankles hurt like $%*(()%&# John told me about skatebite.com it explains both the correct way to lace your skates, and the problems that accrue from doing it the wrong way. Very helpful. Thank John

Just power through the pain until you develop a bursa to protect the sheath around the tendon like I did. P.S. mine is not the recommended solution, Jay has the better idea. Be safe, have fun!

These type laces help a ton as well. They have the hold of waxed but the forgiveness of regular cloth. Plus a little bit cushy. I skip the lace section where my bit issues have occurred by one eyelet. http://www.hockeyworld.com/Elite-Pro-Series-Oval-Laces
