Saturday Skates?

I have only found two possible skates in the entire metro on Saturdays (HF & Eagan). Has it ever been tried? I mean, a guy can only golf so much right?
I would wager an 8:00am skate on Saturday would be every bit as well attended at a 9:45pm skate on Friday since theoretically all those people are still in town, but maybe not?
Thoughts?

I think historically, Saturday skates during the summer are a difficult fill. Between travel, cabins, fishing, etc and the nice weather, hockey is low priority for some. Add in the AHA summer league and it takes more out of it as well. But, JMS has those numbers... They'll know it better than we do.

I agree with Rob, I would like to spend some weekends getting some skates in, but I spend most of the summer weekends up north.

Brooklyn park has open hockey sat night but it's kind of hit or miss how many skaters show up and I am working on trying g to find another goalie to show up other then myself but it's an option

I've tried the Eagan saturday night skates. It's only $5 and starts at 10:00-10:15PM. it's hit or miss how many people show up.

Josh, I know you mentioned the BP skate to me. I would be more interested in that then driving to Edina for a pickup game.

I bet! usually open Hockey games are! I would just bring both sets of gear in case another goalie showed up before me. either way a great workout!!

I used to show up for the BP Saturday night game. Waste of time. Goalies are rare. Plan on 5 or 6 people. Don't waste your time.
Even if you do get 10 or 12 players, most will leave , and you end up with no one. You get what you pay for. There is a Saturday JMS- St. Tom's game that is one of the best. If you go "up north" that's good, but lot of folks do not.

But St. Thomas is quite the hike for me.I rarely try for that game as it fills fast. The late game and the drive are the biggest deterrents for me.

I might play goalie at Eagan or BP this Sat, just depends on whether or not I have a game Sunday. Not sure if we have a bye or not.

I'll try and let everyone know either way. If we have a bye week then I'll probably just go to the U of M Spring Jam instead. Guessing I won't know until tomorrow or so (not sure when they update the site).
