I got the itch to start playing goalie, JMS specifically because the environment. I have leg pads, glove, blocker already. I need everything else. Size reference I'm 6'2 180 and wear 11.5 shoe. I believe I need 10.5 skates. I'll consider anything as long as it's not full of holes.

I got a chest and arm protector yesterday so I'm down to knee pads, cup, skates, helmet, neck guard. I'm on a tight budget, not looking for top of the line but I don't want to get stung every other shot either. If the chest and arm I got from play it again doesn't work out for me as well as what you have to offer I can still return it within the next 14 days. I don't want to spend more than $80 on skates. If they feel awesome I'll go to $100. Same with the helmet. Cup, knee, and neck guard I'd go $10 a piece used.
I don't know if you have a $6000 set or condition, but If you don't feel comfortable with the price I understand. These are just comparables that I've found on eBay, craigslist, and in the store for used beginner equipment.

Some mixed reviews about the knee pads. How were they when you used them?

Skip the knee pads, they aren't needed. What level are you planning on playing at? I'm guessing lower level if you're just giving it a try. If so, you'd probably be okay with a regular helmet. What type of neck guard are you looking for the lexan/polycarbonate one? You could probably get away with a player's cup in a pinch. I have an old goalie cup you're welcome to have, but you'd have to pick it up.

I'm getting pants and a cup for free. That's all I need to start playing. Chances are, if anyone can shoot decent I'll need better pants. I haven't tried any neck guards but I'll probably just get the big plastic one that dangles.
