JMS is holding a newbie goalie clinic (click "learn" above for more info) and we are looking for loaner sets of goalie gear for the two sessions of the clinic. If you're thinking of taking the clinic and need loaner gear OR if you're a goalie willing to share your kit so someone else can get a taste, please post here. Thanks!

I have some extra stuff. I have a chest protector (L-XLish) and an old school helmet that I replaced. I should also have leg pads and catcher/blocker available in a couple of weeks.

Here's one who contacted me: " I'm willing to loan out my gear. It would fit some one about 5'5" to 6'. My skates are a 6 1/2. I think I would be able to show up and assist with putting on these goofy things." Send an e-mail to support if you want me to put you in touch with this guy. BG

I have an almost complete set of gear, no helmet or goalie skates. I have been using my regular skates and helmet with a neck guard. If you're interested let me know. pants are XL or XXL, chest is at least XL, leg pads are older but work well. I'm 6''0" and the leg pads are a little short but not bad.

Maybe contact Play It Again Sports and see if they would be interested in providing a loaner set to buy.

I have legs, a C/A, and a set of gloves someone can use. They are a bit worn but should be O K for an introductory session. I am 5'9". Like Ron I wear a regular helmet with a neck guard. I have an extra one of those also. That is tied onto your cage with three pieces of skate lace. I also use my regular skates. I have played well over 200 sessions with no problem. In fact I would recommend that anyone just trying goalie wear their regular skates. Goalie skates are different and would likely be a big distraction. Unless your shooters are really bringing the heat, regular breezers should be adequate.

If you're serious about being goalie, I'd recommend starting with goalie skates or else you'll learn with bad habits with the different edges and expose your feet to injury. All it takes is an infamous JMS breakaway slap shot to crack your foot!

How many are signed up for the goalie clinic so far?

I have a glove, blocker, and medium goalie breezers. Also, some misc. stuff like knee pads and a throat guard. I would recommend ALWAYS playing with some type of throat protection - even if it looks goofy or is uncomfortable. Also, the glove isn't broken it but it will close. I can work it a little bit beforehand, too. Either way, the stuff is at least higher quality in terms of protection (late 1990's Brian's glove/blocker and Tackla goalie breezers). Finally, I live in St. Cloud but can drop the stuff off somewhere on or around the 22nd. If someone can coordinate getting the stuff returned to me or at least hanging onto the gear until I'm back in the cities, that would help.
