Can I play Hockey Games?

I am still learning how to skate well but I can move around and my field hockey stick skills transfers over. I am a level 1 skater and i was wondering if it would be okay to sign up for a game with level 3 skaters in it? I really want to start playing these pick up games but I don't know where I stand. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Hunter,
I would start with the Novice games on Friday nights at Parade--those are for Levels 1&2 only.
The Lower Level games DO have spots for L3 players, but that number is capped so we don't get too many of them on the ice, controlling the game.
I would steer away from "all-level" games (levels 1 through 5) until you feel a bit steadier on your skates.
Also--check out our beginner skills program, Hockey 101! Click the link at the top of the page, next to the JMS logo.
I'll try to keep an eye on this thread, but if you have any specific questions, please send them to support@jmshockey and we'll definitely see them quickly.
Welcome and good luck!

Any other hockey 101 or 'beginner'classes at Parade or other rinks around? Learning to skate and need more ice time! Any info would be helpful!

The same person who is teaching Hockey 101, Coach Rob Little, also works with JMS on Thursdays at Parade (same rink as Hockey 101). Rob uses the studio rink for small-group clinic sessions.
This instructional session is currently listed on the JMS Games Page, on Thursdays.
I'm looking into more ice for a second JMS Hockey 101 Skills class, but it is darn near impossible to find this time of year. I'll definitely publicize it if I do.
Take another look at my previous post, re: Novice games and contacting support if you need more direct answers. Hope you can make some of those Thursday sessions!
