ALERT: armed man in the neighborhood attempting to assault women:
According to Maplewood and North St. Paul police:
Shortly after 7:45 p.m. Sunday, a 24-year-old woman started her car in the arena parking lot after a game and was confronted by an armed man who got in on the passenger side next to her.
He told the woman “he wanted to have sex with her and to drive the vehicle out of the parking lot,” police said in a statement.
The man forced her to drive to a parking lot west of the high school and turn off the vehicle. The suspect grabbed the victim, prompting her to flee and scream for help. The man drove off in her car, which was located late Monday morning behind the high school.

Too bad I didn't know who to look for when I left last night. I saw the fella in the Star Tribune picture walking on McNight after I left last night. I could have called the police.

Luke - you should still call the police with any information, even as meaningless as you may think it could be. Chances are the perp lives nearby and by you seeing him - the police could, potentially, track him down.

Luke -- I agree with Brian. You should still call the police and report where and when you saw the guy. It could help their investigation. Every little bit of information can help. Just call the police non-emergency number.
