Storing your hockey gear..

Hey JMSers, I'm going to be working the night shift for the foreseeable future which means no hockey for me, and the wife has won the battle on my hockey bag being stored in the garage versus the office closet.. The reason I've won this battle for as long as I have is because I made the argument that I don't want my gear in the garage because it's not climate controlled.. It gets humid in there. I bought a pretty heavy duty rubbermaid tote for that my bag fits in perfectly. Do I want to seal it tight to keep moisture and humidity out? Am I overthinking this and it'll probably be okay to just sit in a tote? How do you store your gear?

I would think using a hockey tree would be better, because it will keep everything aired out. They are easy to make out of PVC pipe, the directions are somewhere in the forum here.

In the garage I'd be more worried about something trying to live in it than the humidity. I'd keep it sealed up to keep critters out.

also use dryer sheets in with the gear. they help with odor and keep the deter the pests.

How about storing the tote with the bag in it, sealed, in the office closet?

Put it in a tote with cat litter. It will deodorize over time, litterally sucking your rank out of the gear. I did this with some used gloves that were perfect but smelled terrible. After a few months, good as new, almost.

I did this and it ended up costing about $30 in materials and took about 20 minutes to cut and assemble. https://snapguide.com/guides/make-a-hockey-gear-stand/
